DESCRIPTION:(from the websites): SODA and POC in Play invite you to attend the first international diverse games festival in person in Manchester Metropolitan’s School of Digital Arts. \nIn SODA’s state of the art new building we will host two days of talks and a networking event showcasing diverse speakers and topics across games development as well as animation and film. This builds on POC in Play’s popular series of networking events with a premium roster of global talent to learn and connect with. \nAttendees at DVRS will gain insights from industry figures\, including speakers such as Shifally Rattan\, Harvey Newman and Prof. Stuart Sumida from celebrated games\, such as Call of Duty\, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order\, Battlefield\, Horizon: Zero Dawn and many more to be announced over the coming week \nThe games festival is open to industry professionals and students covering topics ranging from games design\, art\, narrative\, coding\, music and more. \n “DVRS Games 2025 is the first games festival in Manchester to bring international speakers to share industry knowledge and experience with the community. DESCRIPTION:Now Play This is a festival of experimental game design and playful art running at Somerset House in London\, showcasing interactive and playful work as part of the London Games Festival. \nThis year\, Now Play This presents Folk Games: The Stories We Play Together — we’ll be exploring how communities get together to create\, reinterpret\, and adapt the rules of play. Join us for a hands-on programme featuring inspiring talks\, workshops\, and playful sessions. \n  \n\nNow Play This started in 2015 as an experiment for us and for Somerset House. A way to show that games had already moved past the “but is it art” conversation and was forming complex interrogations into all sorts of spaces. Over the years we’ve grown from a couple of rooms and a couple of days\, to an expansive nine day festival of games\, workshops\, talks\, walks and a conference! Co-founded by Holly Gramazio and V Buckenham with support from Sophie Sampson and Jo Summers\, the team has grown and changed over the years.
