DESCRIPTION:Game Happens (8-10 November @ Genova\, Italy) is the international festival dedicated to the cultural\, political and social impact of video games. The 2019 theme is Elements of Change. \nFrom 8th to 10th November 2019\, Game Happens – the International Festival in Italy dedicated to the cultural\, political and social impact of video games – returns to Genova with a fifth edition that focuses on the most innovative elements of the European independent video game scene\, to link this field with the other creative\, cultural and technological industries. The 2019 theme is Elements of Change. \nIn the year that commemorates both the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements and the centenary of the birth of Primo Levi\, an author who was able to combine chemistry and literature together\, Game Happens treasures a transdisciplinary approach to culture and explores the single elements that are redefining the video game as a means of communication and expression. \nParticular attention will be given to representing the diversity of the authors who belong to the independent game scene and are responsible of innovating the field thanks to their creativity and specific cultural heritage. \nGame Happens Festival is divided into two main formats: a conference\, in English\, aimed at industry professionals\, but also at students who want to start working in the field\, and an exhibition\, which is open to the general public\, where people are invited to get in touch with some of the most groundbreaking independent games. \nIf you want to take part in Game Happens\, you can submit your talk or project here → http://bit.ly/gh2019-call \nMore info about Game Happens → gamehappens.com \nGame Happens 2019 is an event organised by Regione Liguria\, through its in house company Liguria International\, with the support of the Cultural Association Game Happens\, and financed by the POR FESR Liguria 2014-2020.
