SUMMARY:Talk & Play (Berlin - April)
DESCRIPTION:Talk & Play is a free event organised since 2013 by BerlinGameScene.com\, taking place every two months\, that provides the opportunity to game enthusiasts\, players and makers to meet and exchange knowledge in a friendly\, relaxed and safe environment. \nEverybody’s welcome\, regardless of their background and knowledge level: if you like games\, we’ll make sure you have a good time! Important: this is NOT an event only aimed at developers! \nThe event is structured in two parts: \n– TALK: Short game-related presentations + announcements from the community \n– PLAY: All participants are welcome to bring games they’ve made or are still working on – a perfect opportunity to discover and play new games\, collect feedback and\, who knows?\, maybe find collaborators for future projects \nOur Safe Space Policy encourages the behaviour at Talk & Play. We request that everyone who is affiliated with and participates to the event honours it. \n* Note about the June 2025 edition: this year we’re going to celebrate 50 editions of Talk & Play so we might do something special to celebrate\, possibly a bigger event at a different venue. Because of this\, the date of the June edition might change.

SUMMARY:Now Play This 2025
DESCRIPTION:Now Play This is a festival of experimental game design and playful art running at Somerset House in London\, showcasing interactive and playful work as part of the London Games Festival. \nThis year\, Now Play This presents Folk Games: The Stories We Play Together — we’ll be exploring how communities get together to create\, reinterpret\, and adapt the rules of play. Join us for a hands-on programme featuring inspiring talks\, workshops\, and playful sessions. \n  \n\nNow Play This started in 2015 as an experiment for us and for Somerset House. A way to show that games had already moved past the “but is it art” conversation and was forming complex interrogations into all sorts of spaces. Over the years we’ve grown from a couple of rooms and a couple of days\, to an expansive nine day festival of games\, workshops\, talks\, walks and a conference! Co-founded by Holly Gramazio and V Buckenham with support from Sophie Sampson and Jo Summers\, the team has grown and changed over the years.

SUMMARY:Play by Play 2025
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Play by Play! Aotearoa New Zealand’s games conference with a difference!\nPlay by Play is an open-to-the-public industry conference for game developers\, hobbyists and those interested in the sector. \nKicking off again in April 2025 in the country’s beating cultural heart\, Wellington\, Play by Play is a New Zealand games conference with a difference. Since our 2019 event\, Play by Play has broken away from the festival as an entity and now sits under the umbrella of the NZ Games Festival. \nPlay by Play runs for two whole days. These days\, there will be a diverse slate of talks centring around the theme ‘Joy Sparks!’ and exciting opportunities to network with other ANZ game developers.
