SUMMARY:Giocosamente Toffia Playfulness Festival 2019
DESCRIPTION:Giocosamente – Toffia Playfulness Festival \nFrom the website: \n\nA new Festival dedicated to Playfulness is about to be born. \nPlayfulness as an attitude and disposition of character and it’s cultivation. \nHow is Playfulness cultivated in life\, in work\, in education? \nHow does Playfulness expand? \nHow is it taught? \nHow can playfulness make our lives more interesting and meaningful? \nWe will explore Playfulness in workshops and happenings. \nThe workshops will be dedicated to two areas: \nExchanges of playful practices for facilitators and people interested in exploring Playfulness with ADULTS. Collaborative\, uncompetitive\, extremely engaging games that open us up and make us literally children. Expressive and creative and even scientific activities in a playful way. \nExchanges of practices and playful approaches by and for educators\, teachers and parents dedicated to CHILDREN. How can we cultivate and maintain the approach to Playfulness while dealing with children? \nSaturday afternoon and evening will be dedicated to the playful interaction with the village\, through happenings and games that will involve the participants of the festival and the inhabitants of the village of Toffia and the neighbouring villagers who wish to participate. The program is still being defined however. \nFestival goals \nTo bring people together from Italy and abroad to explore Playfulness\, creating an atmosphere of light-heartedness\, joy and fun among the participants and locals. Practice and explore together the importance of Playfulness. Share playful educational methods dedicated to children\, teens and adults. Creation of a local Playfulness practice community. \n\nWebsite: https://pearlsofjuggling.wordpress.com/call-for-prososals-toffia-playfulness-festival/

SUMMARY:BitSummit 2019
DESCRIPTION:“BitSummit 7 Spirits” is the seventh iteration of the summit. \nBitSummit 7 Spirits will take place the weekend of June 1st and 2nd\, 2019\, and will be open to the public from 10:00am to 5:00pm each day. As has been tradition since the second BitSummit\, all activities will take place at the Miyako Messe\, the expansive and modern convention site of the past three festivals. As is by now tradition\, BitSummit’s annual theme celebrates a distinct facet of Japanese pop culture\, and this year’s event mascots take the form of seven “lucky” samurai spirits\, as an homage to Japan’s samurai culture made famous throughout the millennia in book\, movie\, television\, and video game form. The “7 Spirits” of BitSummit are distinguished by a single flame appearing above each character’s kabuto (helmets). The reveal of BitSummit’s 7 Spirits will debut in the near future. \nWebsite: http://bitsummit.org \nTwitter: @bitsummit\, @bitsummitJP \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/Bitsummit

SUMMARY:Arcadia 2019
DESCRIPTION:Join us for day packed full with an amazing array of leading game designers and thinkers co-curated in partnership with V&A Dundee. \nCoinciding with the latest V&A Dundee exhibition Videogames: Design/Play/Disrupt\, the day will bring together a world-leading group of diverse designers and radical thinkers whose work covers the spectrum of game-making; from practical design\, to soundscapes and future technologies\, as well as exploring games as a cultural force. \nArcadia 2019 aims to unpack key stories from within the videogame design process –  from why certain aesthetic decisions are taken\, to how sound and visuals are mapped into virtual spaces. This will follow sessions exploring the more experimental aspects and approaches within videogame culture and creation. From the physical games we play\, to the collective and communal ways we choose to make them\, we want to dive deep into the process of game making and celebrate those at the forefront of new ways of making and doing. \nArcadia will be followed by V&A Dundee Tay Late\, co-curated by our friends We Throw Switches\, where you will be invited to engage all types of physical game-making\, with a host of arcades and playful experiences across the Museum. Tickets include access to the exhibition\, as well as entry to the Tay Late!

SUMMARY:72 Hour Urban Action 2019
DESCRIPTION:From the website: \n72 Hour Urban Action is the world’s first real-time architectural competition where international teams design\, build\, sleep and party together to generate public interventions in a limited space within a short time and on a tight budget. \nIt is a tool for resetting our perceptions of public space. This tool\, taking the form of a design festival\, has been intervening in different communities since 2010\, working hands-on with local partners from the bottom up. \n72HUA exposes local issues and offers alternative ideas quickly by bringing experts and amateurs to work in microsites – those neglected pockets of urban space full of potential that are too small to officially develop but are too big for residents to ignore. \nThe festival team has been conducting research and hosting workshops with partners in Jena-Lobeda since 2018\, setting up a network of local organizations and looking closely at the use of public spaces in the district. These actors help us understand and know Lobeda from within\, map and collect the wishes and needs of the district and prepare the ground for the international teams to come and work on site. Ten sites are selected and analyzed through this collective process and ten missions set the challenges for the teams to respond to. The missions are decided by luck. No one knows which team gets which site until we start the clock. \nWebsite: https://www.72stundenlobeda.de \nTwitter: https://twitter.com/72hua

SUMMARY:Black Box CPH VIII
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to BlackBox Cph – a festival for experimental role play at the centre of Copenhagen. \nAt Blackbox Cph you can choose between a number of larps of about 3-4 hours’ duration. The larps will apply theatrical lighting and sound for controlling the play and several of them will be experimenting with other theatrical techniques. This creates a unique form of role play that has come to be known as black box role play. \nThe larps for Blackbox Cph are designed to be plug-and-play. This means that the demands for you as a player are at a minimum. To play you just have to sign up\, and when you come to the larp remember to bring a basic costume\, which consists of a pair of black socks\, black pants\, and a black t-shirt. \nThe designers of the larps will take care of all additional preparation. The designers have total power over their larps\, they will be in charge of plots\, roles\, workshop\, instructions\, as well as controlling theatrical lights and sound\, with a little help from us. \nAs a player all you have to do is be ready to follow instructions and give it your all when the spotlight hits you. \nBlackbox Cph is organized by Gnist in cooperation with HusetKBH and TeaterHuset. \nWebsite: http://blackbox-cph.dk/?page_id=10&lang=en \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/blackboxcph/

SUMMARY:PLAYRAUM: Urban Gaming Festival 2018
DESCRIPTION:Quoted from the website (in Dutch) \n\nWie wil het niet: voor één dag Super Mario zijn. Alles is beginner-proof.
