I’m excited to announce that I will give a talk on Playful Culture at Republika Fest in Rijeka, Croatia this week.
Republika Fest will take place from 18 – 20 July 2013 and is:
“a three day seaside meeting of forward thinkers from all around the world in a festival of creativity and progressive culture. It consists of talks, discussion panels, workshops, screenings, entertainment and music programs organized by prominent international festivals such as SHARE (Belgrade, Beirut), A MAZE (Berlin, Johannesburg) and PAUSE (Melbourne), amplified by new regional projects – RockPaperStartups and Start Art Expo.”
The wonderful A MAZE. Festival (Berlin) is organizing an Indie Pop Up as part of Republika Fest. “A MAZE. Indie Pop Up is a mobile event format with the goal of presenting Indie Games in a broader context within media art festivals, music festivals and creative industry events.”
A MAZE’s artistic director and founder, Thorsten Wiedemann invited me to take part in the festival as speaker and game jam organizer. Other Indie Pop Up participants are: Lea Schönfelder, Marek Plichta, Rami Ismail, Pippin Barr, Simon Bachelier, Thorsten S. Wiedemann, Mario v. Rickenbach, Lorenzo Pilia, Matthias Löwe and Marek Plichta. Indie Pop Up will feature workshops, talks, night of machinima, beach game jam, and an indie games exhibition.
Short info:
- My talk will be on Saturday at 20:30 BENCIC T 1ST FLOOR
- The Beach game jam I organize will either be on Friday or Saturday. It will be around 4 hours long and we will explore beach games design.
