The Playful Arts Festival challenges designers, sculptors, artists, creatives to design a playful labyrinth for the festival in June 2016 in ‘s -Hertogenbosch.
Lampshades, plants, pillows, rain boots… What everyday object will become the central design piece of the PAF labyrinth? How will the designer or artist use these materials to create an interesting sculpture that can fit several people at once? What kind of playful experience will the festival visitors have in the labyrinth and how will they interact with each other?
Location
We are happy to announce that we are working together with electronic music festival FAQ Festival to show a first edition of the labyrinth in the Willem II Factory in ‘s-Hertogenbosch (NL) during the W2 Poppodium W2N8 event, 9 April.
The full scale labyrinth will be one of the center pieces of the Playful Arts Festival 2016 (PAF16) that takes place in the Willem II Factory from 2 to 5 June 2016.
PAF16: Bodies at Play
During PAF16 visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of interactive installations and a line-up with performances, dance, games & play, live music. Each PAF edition we work with a theme for the festival. The theme for PAF16 is: Bodies at Play. We are curating a selection of works for the festival that explores the playful body within playful design, performance and visual art. For the labyrinth we are looking for a surprising connection with the PAF16 theme. Stimulate the senses, play with intimacy/corporality, or a twist in movement that engages the audience and let them make connections with others.
